Tonight, Tonight! a Shakespeare Cabaret
The Legacy Theatre celebrates great literature, relevant stories, and important figures. This event encapsulates all three in one great subject: William Shakespeare and songs he has inspired.
Shakespeare alludes to well over one hundred songs in his works, and most educated people of his time could read music. Not surprisingly, over the past four centuries Shakespeare has unwittingly inspired countless creations of music by his plays, sonnets, plots, and themes. Join us for an evening of songs evoked by the Bard, from Purcell's If Music Be the Food of Love to Porter's Brush Up Your Shakespeare. Featuring a Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass from Legacy Theatre's core resident company, this cabaret will uplift, educate, inspire, and entertain. This event is FREE and open to the general public, with a suggested donation of $15.
