Donating Opportunities
Legacy Theatre is proud to serve the community with a fully restored, historic theatre, bringing Mainstage professional productions, Broadway Concerts, Family Series shows, special events, new works, classes, and so much more to the Shoreline! As a nonprofit, we rely on the generosity of our donors and community. There are many ways for you to support us!
Please contact Anne Runolfsson at anne@legacytheatrect.org or call 203-315-1901 with any questions.
Legacy Theatre is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) and donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
Your donation helps provide tickets to local students for a performance at Legacy Theatre, supports our dynamic, professional teaching staff in its offerings of stimulating and diverse theatre classes for all ages, provides funding for Legacy’s Wheel Life Theatre Troupe, an ensemble of actors who ambulate with crutches or use wheelchairs, benefits our outreach programs, providing access to the arts for underserved communities, and so much more!
Donations of Stock
Providing a gift of appreciated securities to Legacy Theatre can save you income tax and capital gains tax when you give shares of a publicly-traded security that you have owned for a year or more. If you itemize, you may deduct from your taxable income the full fair market value of your shares as of the date of your gift, regardless of what you paid for them. In 2023, the annual income tax deduction limit for appreciated assets that have appreciated is 30% of your adjusted gross income. You may, however, carry forward any unused portion of your deduction for up to five additional years. And, when you give publicly-traded securities you have held for more than one year that have increased in value, you do not have to report any of your capital gain in the securities. If you were to sell these securities yourself, you would owe capital gains tax on the difference between the sale price and the amount you paid for them. As in all instances, please consult with your financial and/or tax advisor regarding your personal circumstances when considering a gift of stock.
Before transferring stock to Legacy Theatre, please have your broker contact the Legacy staff to let us know your name and the name of the stock being transferred. This will expedite the proper recording and acknowledgement of your generous gift.
For Instructions for Stock Transfers or Wire Transfers, please contact Anne Runolfsson at Anne@legacytheatrect.org or call 203-315-1901.

Honor someone special in your life by dedicating one of Legacy Theatre's performances! Dedicating a performance is truly a unique way to commemorate a birthday, anniversary, or achievement.
To make the experience truly memorable, your honoree will enjoy a special welcome on lobby signage, a personalized announcement made by the House Manager before the performance begins, and flowers or a boutonniere for the honoree. Depending on the production, meet and greets with the performers may be arranged.
Please Note: Tickets are not included in this Dedicate a Performance Program. A dedication must be reserved at least two weeks in advance of your desired performance date.
Wheel Life Theatre Troupe Dedicated Donation
The Wheel Life Theatre Troupe is Legacy Theatre’s group of actors who ambulate with crutches or use wheelchairs (and their buddies!). Your dedicated donation helps to keep this program free to participants!
